Dissimulation is the act of concealment: the masking of intent, character, or emotion beneath a constructed surface. Unlike simulation, which fabricates what does not exist, dissimulation obscures what is already present, replacing reality with something convincing enough to be accepted in its place.
For Winter 2025, Ampeur applies this idea to familiar forms. Classic menswear silhouettes remain legible, while their materials, construction, and behavior shift; functional origins are preserved and refined across certain pieces, while in others, convention is overtly inverted.
Heritage military and workwear soften and drape with a measured sensitivity, while their utility is explored through a modern lens. Casual sportswear gains weight and structure, exchanging lightweight performance for warmth, protection, and a sophisticated edge. The collection considers which elements of identity carry weight throughout time: the underlying intent, or the surface through which it is expressed.
